How to configure Huwawei HG556b Ooredoo Router as a Access Point

How to configure your Adsl Huwawei HG556b Ooredoo Router for wifi access point. It is very simple step, I will explain step by step.


  • Connect to your router using wifi or LAN cable
  • Type 192.168.1.1 on your web browser 
  • Enter user name "admin"  and password "admin"
  • Click left hand bottom site Maintenance tab and next click device and click Restore Default Setting, It will reset to Factory Default setting you have to wait three minutes for this function
  • Again log to your router now if you are going to log to your router you have to use router back site Security key
  • Click basic tab and then click WAN tab, then Check all Interfaces configuration under the WAN connection and remove all those configuration.
  • Do same to the PTM tab
  • Do same to the ATM tab
  • Now you are in ATM tab Press (+) Button and add manualy new VPI/VCI "8/35" underte ATM and then click Submit Button 
  • Again going to WAN tab and press (+) button and sellect ATM1_8_35 from connection device in drop down menu 
  • Check WAN Connection, Service list, All LAN port, SSID1 and DHCP Transparent transmission and click Submit Button 
  • Go to LAN tab Disable DHCP Server and Disable DHCP Option pool and also change IP address  for your gateway IP address range click submit Button  ( put this IP for Qatar ooredoo Fiber Network  192.168.100.100 )
  • Go to WLAN Tab and change your SSID and password

    Hello - how to add the network - I moved house and we have Fiberoptics now - I want to use this router as access point to feed some Internet (via cable ) to some machines that are not on wifi . How to tell the router to get Internet from the current wifi ? Will it be able to receive ?
